Target Red Card

Does anyone know which CRA the Target red car pulls from? I know the card is backed by TD Bank. Im hoping to get approved, Credit Karma says very good approval rates but i know i cant trust that.

My TU is 706

My EQ is 643 (Have 3 medical baddies)

My EX is 703

My profile is thin only 6 accounts

-2 open auto loans

-1 closed PIF auto loan

- fingerhut

- Capital one Platinum

- NFCU Cash rewards

oldest account is 1 year and 1 month

Can anyone provide any info or thoughts on my approval, hoping they pull TU or EX as i have the three medical collections on EQ.

Re: Target Red Card

With your thin file and scores, I would just get the debit card.

They like sticking people with excellent credit with low limits anyway and the debit still earns the same rewards.

Re: Target Red Card

To answer your question, they generally pull Equifax.

You might get an approval. Just don’t expect a huge limit.

Re: Target Red Card

The Target card was very helpful in the early stages of my rebuild.  Craptacular credit score, (low 600's) thin file, but they still approved me.  Was only a $200 SL, IIRC.  I used it regularly, paid in full, often a few times a month, and they increased my limit every 3 months or so.  Within 18 months it was over $2,000.  Never carried a balance or paid a dime in interest.

I don't recall which bureau they pulled, but if you shop at Target regularly, I say gor for it.  I bet you'd be approved, but for a small SL that will grow if used regularly.

I think the varying responses depend on your goals.   If you are just looking for a card to grow your file, then maybe this one, but I suspect that there are others which are easier.   If you shop at Target and want the discount, go for the debit card which has the same rewards and no hit to your credit (and of course no positive impact either!)
