I was on the phone with an Amex rep regarding another card when they mentioned I was targeted for the upgrade to the Bonvoy Brilliant card with a 125k bonus after 5 k spend. I jumped on this as it beats the 50k points offer after 2.5k spend currently in my AX preapproved offers. I may not keep this card long term and if I dont I will downgrade after a year. My HH Aspire is my go to hotel card. My wife also has an Aspire.

For once I did not get the dreaded message following the upgrade attempt. I usually am told I am not eligible for future bonuses although they will approve me for anything I apply for membership since 1985 helps
