Technical issues with Discover today (Feb 6)

I got the message about Discover doing system maintenance over the weekend. As of today, I'm able to access my account and statements; however, I am unable to contact them via chat or telephone. I didn't see anything on Twitter but did see reports on Reddit that other users are experiencing a similar issue. 

 

For anyone that has automatic charges posting to their Discover account today, or the coming days, you might want to keep an eye on the charge or switch payment methods until their technical issues are resolved. 

 

Note: To avoid a tangent in the discussion, I pay my bills 😊...everyone, including Discover, is paid timely; the majority are PlF'd, and my reports reflect that.

I was having issues yesterday trying to request a CLI. Can't tell if it went through or not...

Yep definitely an issue that seems widespread. My digital wallet card was just declined at a grocery store. Tried calling in but get: "Thank you for calling, we are currently experiencing technical difficulties, please try again later."

I recieved a new card last week after some fool pulled a $1 charge at a dry cleaners 1300 miles away in AL to see if the charge would go thru. Got a text. Called immediately. They marked it fraud. Today I got a letter why I was refused a loan. Huh? I didnt apply. Called the loan dept. Dialed the number and Caller ID said "Binta Patel". Not Discover. Called the credit dept even. Busy. So somethings up.

 

Searched Binta Patel and is he/she is Discovers Corporate Recruiter.

As of Feb 7, no issues accessing my account or using my card. My February statement balance is updated on my CRs. I haven’t had the chance to contact Disco via phone or chat, but I hope that the communication channels are restored for those that need immediate support.

@Tcal : Any updates on the CLI?

Maybe it got sorted out? ..or didn't affect chip reader use?

 

I made disco purchase in person at a small shop on the 6th ~8pm.

None. I may have to call. 

 

I was able to use the card last night. So maybe it's slowly coming back together

Sill unable to add new card to Apple Pay -- four days and counting as of 2/7. Problems seem to continue

Both phone numbers worked today. Last night both busy. Credit and loan. I know it isnt card related. But weird it all went south for a while.
