Thanks for all your help...another NFCU testimony...

First time poster here but not new to the forum.  For the past 3  maybe more like 4 months, I have logged in religiously and read all the threads...its become addictive...

I wanted to give thanks to everyone who have shared their stories because they have all helped me with becoming more knowledgeable and responsible with credit.  Since I started tuning into the forum, I have worked on cleaning and rebuilding my credit.  My Fico scores have grown a little since I've gotten hooked and my credit report---looks a whole lot better.  With that said, here's my NFCU testimony:

When I noticed my EQ score moved from 591 to 623 on this past Tuesday, I decided to get up on Wednesday and open an account with NFCU (should have done that along time ago but it is what it is)...I submitted the membership app online and waited until that afternoon to call and ask if it had been open and established.  The rep said I should have called in and applied for membership and it would have been done right then and there---so guys, remember that step...call in for instant membership acceptance.  Ok, the next morning I called and was given my account access code...was told I can't see accounts online until I receive a letter via snail mail.  Ok...on my lunch break I went into the branch and I app for the NavLoc and nRewards.  The account specialist was very nice and knowledgeable.  She advised that I would have no problems but since I am still new to this and still afraid of the "D" word (denied)...I asked for $2000 loc and I didn't bother to specify an amount for the CC.  I did not get an instant approval on either because I forgot I had that security alert thing placed on EQ so the apps were sent electronically for manual review.  Well, the following morning, I called because I'm so impatient and I dislike stress and waiting causes me stress--anyway, I called and was told that I was approved for the $2000 loc....I'm still grinning from ear to ear...you all just don't know what this has done for my credit ego...I feel truly blessed and favored right now.   I never received a call nor did the HR dept receive a call for employment verification...Now as far as the nReward card---still under review is the current status however; the rep said that if I was approved so quickly for the LOC I will have no problems with the CC being approved, it's just a matter of them determining what amount the limit should be.  As soon as I get word, I will post again to share the news.

I can't thank you all enough and I don't think you really realize how wonderful you all are and how great of a resource this forum truly is...thank you all again and I wish you much success in all of your endeavors.

Now I need to build in a tagline and add some Fico numbers...Smiley Happy

Congrats are in order !!

She's probably right about the CC.

I just went through the waiting game w/ them last week. They are slowwwwwww but worth it.

They already are reporting my sig loan from a week ago on EQ.

Those are awesome TLs. NFCU is great. I slowly phased out my old CC and switched to them officially a couple of weeks ago. Their CS is great, and they seem to have more lenient approval standards.

I opened the following:

NavCheck LOC - $10,000
Platinum MC - $10,000
nRewards Visa - $5,000

I am strongly considering refinancing my mortgage through NFCU also. These guys are outstanding.

Re: Thanks for all your help...another NFCU testimony...

Just signed the wife up. We'll wait for snail mail packets since I just paid all her credit cards off with part of my Sig Loan from NFCU.

Now that they're paid we'll wait to let them report 0 balance across the board so her UT is 2-5 % as compared to 80% last week. She got denied at PenFed a month ago for high usage and a BK. Give it 3-4 weeks and she'll apply for CC's from NFCU.

She's got one acct on her report after the BK that's under dispute it should have been included) for 90 day baddies. I hope this doesn't hurt her chances, the BK is from 2003.

Anyway, congrats ,they've been good to me too.

NavChek 15k
Sig Loan 12.5k
Visa 25k
MC 1K (small but I'll take it and give it some heavy usage and immediate payment and look for a CLI)
