The Official CCC Rant Thread!

Share your dirt! And let's keep it friendly!Smiley Happy

1.) Sears: liars for reporting 30-day lates when the card holder was only 5 days late. Rate jackers.

2.) Chase: Demanding a card holder pay an APR of 24.99% with a 14 year perfect payment history, util below 9%, util on all other cards below 9% and FICO scores in the 770-790 range. They are also rate jackers.

This should be an enlightening thread. Smiley Happy

1) Discover Card - frequently freezing my account for security "fraud alerts." Before making charges in another city or over $200, I feel the need to call them ahead of time.

2) Any CCC that practices Universal Default.

3) US Bank, it seems to take a week for them to process my payments.

Re: The Official CCC Rant Thread!

Ugh avoid Sears like the plague!!

I would like to point out that Chase CLI pulled a HARD inq on Ex even though the CSR I was talking to stated more than 2 times (after my persistant worry about an inq) that they will only do a SOFT pull..

I did get the CLI but now have a hard on Ex.. Chase CSR sux lmao

Chase did not ratejack me yet but MANY stories on it..

Citi and Amex are my 2 fav cc companies  - so far!

I am contemplating on adding Discover........... shhh

Re: The Official CCC Rant Thread!

Sears/ Citi, who decided that after I charged ~$60 for two months, my charging of not quite $350 in the third month indicated that I was a money-launderer, and didn't restore my available credit for two weeks, after two phone calls!

And for refusing to raise my CL, first because I had not been charging enough (see above), and then after I did, because I had a late payment on my credit report, which they had put there!! And won't remove!!!

And it took a month to get the online payment system up, and their site is still incomprehensible!!!! And, and, just because!!!!! whew Smiley Tongue

Re: The Official CCC Rant Thread!

Hm. There's only one CC company that I do not like. Capital One. lol. There was so much confusion when I had their CC. Too bad I didn't end in good terms with them. They would've been my longest card consumer. hahah.

Re: The Official CCC Rant Thread!

ALL of them, but CCs are de facto to be able to function in our society.

Cap1- Why won't they give me a CLI? Must I app for a higher-tiered card? Nope, refuse. No more apps (and please, stop sending me the checks & car loan offers).

HSBC- Why can't they give an instant decision on combining cards & CLs? Idiocy.

Amex-  Froze my card, declined my purchase, made me prove I'm me

Re: The Official CCC Rant Thread!

For me, without a doubt Applied Bank. The obscene fees border on loan sharking, imo.

Every time I went to pay the statement, I felt dirty, and violated. It was a very demeaning experience for me. Thank goodness it's in the past.

Re: The Official CCC Rant Thread!

I'll add to the Sears / Citi rant:

GF (STBDW) requested $3100 CLI (from $3900 to $7K).

Perfect payment history (9 years)
751 - 765 FICO
0 - 1 INQ
$150K HHI
3% UTI
First CLI request ever

Result:  $1200
