What I think is very interesting is that the same banks gave you 2 CL for the exact same amount!

I would skip Nationwide and shoot the other you talked about (I forget already).... they HATE inq!

I would skip Penfed also (i didnt see them on your list so maybe youre not into Penfed Smiley Happy )

I actually applied for the PenFed promise card on 12/13/11 and was approved for $3,000. I called to get a higher limit but was shutdown stating I was approved for the max at this time. I asked about applying for another card and was told I would get denied because $3k is the max credit allotted to me at this time. Was told they want to see history with me and wait a year to apply for more credit.

Well 3K is not bad considering you got stacks of credit $$ on other cards!! Smiley Happy

Better you than me. I was denied flat out even with a recon. And $3k is not bad at all. Penfed is a very conservative lender.

Yea I read a lot about PenFed and other creditors. Put together an app spree strategy. I actually applied for both PenFed and DCU membership the same day but completely forgot my EQ was frozen. PenFed still approved membership with only a soft INQ but put a hold restriction on deposits for the first 6 months. When I realized that my EQ was frozen I unfroze it and called PenFed to let them know. They pulled a hard acouple days later and then a few days later was approved for the promise card. DCU on the other hand told me I needed to send in an application signed before they would grant me membership. So DCU is on hold till my next app spree Smiley Happy

Chase Freedom - Approved $5,000

Citi Platinum - Approved $1,500 instantly but got it moved to $4,800 after speaking with executive customer service

Now come the pending and denials:

Chase Slate - Denied only due to already having a Slate card that was converted from a Chase card I have from years ago

Care Credit - Denied solely due to the INQ that appeared during my app spree on EQ (if I had known they were INQ sensitive I would have applied for them first)

LFCU - Pending (requested last 2 pay stubs)

I think DCU pulls EQ too. But they are also a conservative lender and tough to deal with.

They did that without a HP?

When I got my Chase (i know they tend t ocompete wit hthe Discover More) I asked them if they could match it and they said it was going to be a HP. That was the same day i got approved for the Freedom. I refused to take another HP the same day.

Yea they do and the main reason I want to join DCU is for the monthly EQ Fico score. The credit card would just be a bonus since they use the same pull for the first 60 days I believe.
