Today I got a targeted offer in the mail from Citibank for their Diamond Preferred card. I wrote it off initally, because I rarely carry a balance and would take any of their rewards cards over the Diamond Preferred. Now that I've taken a look at the offer now though, I'm actually kind of insulted.
First off, they offered me a 18.99% APR after the no-interest period, which is at the high end of their 11.99%-21.99% range. That is not so bad though. The thing that really got me was their offer of 12 months with no APR on BTs and purchases, 6 months less than the 18 months are giving on their own website.
Aren't targeted offers supposed to give better terms than are otherwise available? Now I just feel like Citibank takes me for a fool with mediocre credit. ![]()
CITI bank is a funny and weird lender. Targeted is supose to be better but their website may have changed over night. Also I believe they are a true YMMV company
The offers you see on the website are for prime customers. Targeted offers are based on your own credit profile which is why you had the higher interest rate and less on the BT offer
