Those with NFCU accounts

I wanted to know if I sponsored someone to join and they defaulted on their account (checking, auto, CC, etc) would I be liable in any way?  My roommate is asking me to sponsor him and I just dont want to be connected to his actions per se.  Thanks!

I don't think that they would be able to come after you for any debt that he incurrs with NFCU, unless you and he happened to jointly apply.    As far as adverse action goes, IMO they probably wouldn't shut your accounts down unless there was some reason related to your own payments or credit.
