I don't know, but I just got an instant 5% back at Target 10 mins ago. $3.82 I can put towards tacos.

To be fair, I am in the same boat. I don't like store cards. I much prefer co-branded credit cards. I use my Amazon Visa exclusively on Amazon, the same 5%, but still like the fact that it still has more flexibility than their store card version (which can be superior in my book as well).
Aside from a few stores like Amazon (which usually has a co-branded version of the card), I personally do not need brand loyalty to get their store card. I like shopping for competitors which are possibly cheaper than the 5% discounted item.

Agree. Sometimes the 5% discount can be beat easily. As long as it doesn't take much effort to find it. Sometimes the 5% is the best bet. That's where the store card comes into play.
I have the best buy Citi card & I love it. Financing options & rewards. Right now is5% back on groceries so if you shop at best buy alot it's worth it. You get your rewards in the form of best buy rewards certificates.
