I had the credit limits reduced on three of my cards, which is something I'd been considering for a while. The cuts were:
Cap1 Savor: $30k --> $15k
NFCU CR+: $25k --> $15k
Amex BCP: $32k --> $16k
There were really three reasons I did this. The first, which applies to all three, is that I had used combined income when I applied for them. My wife and I did combined finances at that time, but now we do separate finances, so I wanted to bring the limits down to something more commensurate with my individual income. The second, which applies to Cap1 and Amex, is that I just use these cards for groceries, and the limits were greatly in excess of what I need for that purpose. The third was that my Cap1 and Disco limits together were at like 90% of my income and I wanted to create more room for when Cap1 brings my Disco over, if that would be a consideration in keeping a reasonable limit on the Disco.

I always think it's wise to keep ones CL in check with ones spend. Excessive CL has no additional benefits, other than sport. If one has a good handle on their spend and future spend, by all means, CLD. Although I tend to do it in conjunction with an event, like, new account, PC. But if your profile is strong, anytime is fine.
Yours was modest and you left more than enough room for spend. Helping to add new accounts to those issuers.

I am on board with above posters.
Have lowered CL's on 4 or 5 cards over the years for different reasons.
The last was just because the limit from the automatic increases had grow to $60,000.
The card has very poor rewards, ~0.7%, and is a keep alive ($5 every 3-4 months).
30+ years old so no plan to close.
Lowered it to $20,000, 3 years ago.
It is now @ $26,000, love that lowering them does not stop the auto increases. ![]()
Probably wait until 30k to call again.
