Re: Time to garden!

Gardening is a good thing!

I am basically in the same boat. This month:

1. AMEX Zync.

2. Discover.

3. Barclay Itunes Rewards Visa.

4. PayPal Smart Connect.

5. Target Red Card.

6. PenFed Rewards Visa.

Time to sit back for a while and watch the CLI's grow!

I will use these cards and PIF each month.

Re: Time to garden!

I just got two new accounts which brings the total to 7 now. Definitely gardening as 5 are under a year old.

Re: Time to garden!

Yep - I might as well just stick my thumbs in the ground!

So, now to use the cards for "normal" monthly bills and pay them in full just before the statement cuts!

Right now, I am going to pound my Discover card so I can get the credit limit up - goal: $10k... That will take a while!

Watch them grow!  LOL   Smiley Very Happy

Re: Time to garden!

Gardening...so hard to do though!!!!!

Nothing like that rush of hitting the submit button on an application and watching that "60 second instant approval loading bar" hoping to see a "Congratulations, you've been approved for...."

That's what I do, and it's a great strategy. Monthly bills have to be paid anyway, so it's just a matter of how payment is tendered. Using one's cards keeps them active and reporting, and if you use a card that offers rewards, you get to pocket those as well. The PIF before statement cuts is the key. By doing so, you avoid piling up debt while keeping your FICO score at its best.

Sounds like we have a lot of watering cans to pass around! Happy gardening!

Re: Time to garden!

I hear tthat!

All of the cards have rewards of some sort. So, I just sat down and thought things through on who to pay with what to get the best rewards...

I love to play the game!
