We are making changes to the Chase Ultimate Rewards® Amazon Shop with Points1 program.
• Beginning September 1, the Amazon.com redemption value for $1 is changing from 100 points to 125 points.
• Your points will no longer be deducted when your purchase ships; they will be debited at the time your order is placed.
These changes do not impact your other Chase Ultimate Rewards redemption options including cash back, gift cards, travel and more.
Visit Ultimate Rewards today to learn more.
Thank you for choosing Chase.
Interesting, obviously hoping to save money that way! Given you can cash out at 1c per UR, using Shop with Points will be stupid
Eh, just gives me more reason to pay mine off and close it. I don't use it for daily spend anyway.

CLose what? This is any Chase UR card, not the Chase Amazon
this is disappointing - and I hope not a sign of UR being devalued like TYpoints were.

When were they devalued?
With 3.7B shares outstanding and a 2nd quarter profit of 1.55 a share I see no reason for them to be devaluing anything, most unfortunate they have decided to do this.

When were they devalued?
Before my time, from reading here on the forums. I didn't have a Thankyou card until last July, but read some posts that seemed to indicate they were worth more in the past than they are now in general.
I would imagine that for people with airline transfer-capable Thankyou cards, the impact is greater now that AA is not an option.

I don't remember any reductions but it's possible. Not sure what you mean by 'now that AA is not an option'. You could never transfer TYP to American Airlines. The only thing that is changing (and yes it is a big loss to some) is the redemption rate that you get when redeeming TYP for AA flights. It's still available but ties from 1.6 cents to 1.25 cents per point. Keep in mind that these changes don't go into effect for a year.
