Re: Tisk tisk Chase

I really don't understand what the big deal is with this.  As others have pointed out, you can still get cash at 1 cent per point.  The Amazon was already a worthless redemption value anyway.  Why pay with points when you can be using a card and earning 10% cashback, 5% cashback or at worst 3% cashback?  Not to mention using Amazon g/c that you can get at a 10% discount by, for example, redeeming your tax refund.  Or over 20% with the gift card deal on Amazon Prime day.  That already made pay with points a losing proposition anyway.  So they made it a little worse.  Ho hum.

Chris.

So they made a poor use of points an even worse use of points, who cares 😒

It is an odd choice and concerning trend with the devaluations but if you're using your points to pay for Amazon purchases directly you were missing out on at least a couple percent return even before the devaluation.

While this is a nerf, it's really not a big deal being as though you can get plain cash at full value.

If you struggle to meet the 20 dollar threshold id suggest that the card probably isn't working for you. You may want to just close it if its generating next to nothing.
