To Apply or Not to Apply

Basically, my EQ score has hit 550 and I really wanted to pull the button on a card or two. Is there any advice on what might go through without a hitch. I am still working on a Cap One CO. So they are DOA right is sec.

Any Advise will help.

Re: To Apply or Not to Apply

I was thinking.... 620 at least just for a good capital one.... Or 650+ for anything else. PLus, only ones that are BK friendly

You don't even want to know how many cards i've got....

Re: To Apply or Not to Apply

I see you have a secured card with NFCU. Do you bank with another institution as well? Maybe a secured card there.

A Walmart store card might be good (if for nothing else, the free FICO score)

With scores that low I'd wait on any apps. Break into the low 600's and keep a good payment history with no more baddies and you should be eligible for the Barclays rewards card.  I got it with about a 620-625 score 1 year out of BK7.

Stay in the garden. Your not getting anything decent with that score and the inqs will just set you back further. You don't need more cards at the moment. Work the two cards you have until you get into the 600s and then reassess. The only thing that is going to really help you at this point is time because that chap 7 is going to be a real weight around your neck for a couple of years.
