To Arrival or not to Arrival

So with the signup bonus spend going up shortly, want some advice as to whether I should go for a Barclays Arrival (Fee version).

Stats (Fresh off EX - I know they pull TU but its pretty similar): - 6 Inqs.

AMEX BCE (Opened it Last month, Backdate to 1/11): 426 balance / 2500 - (Paid has reported)

Chase Freedom (Opened 7/13, Shows last month bump to $1k from $500, hasn't updated to reflect reconned limit of $2k): 0/1000      - Will report on Saturday or Monday, zeroed again.

Not yet reporting (AMEX PRG, Opened it last month, Backdate to 1/11): NPSL (Paid yesterday, should report in the next day or two).

Oldest Acct. 3.1 yrs.

AAoA (before PRG reports) - 1.8 yrs.

Util as current - 12%

No negatives whatsoever. Only 2 Inqs on TU - both in March last year, one is a Util. CK is showing a 734 Fako. All green across the paid status board.

Reasons for wanting the card: Was planning on getting it anyway before travelling to Canada (or another no FTF card), its a MC, the bonus is nice, fills the role I originally had for the CSP (but didn't get it), and works because I tend to travel economy most of the time anyway and I like the flexible redemption.

What do people thing my chances are - and if they are good should I go for it:

A) Before the PRG reports - it will increase AAoA to 2.3 yrs.

B) Before the Freedom reports

C) After the freedom reports - it will increase limit from 1000-2000, and another month paid, report at zero, reduce overall Util to 9%

Re: To Arrival or not to Arrival

I think j your chances are decent though they will most likely approve you for a platinum MC as opposed to world MC, but that really is a non-issue for most people.

Go for it! Best of luck.

Agree with others; I think you're good for the Platinum version. Goodluck!

Re: To Arrival or not to Arrival

Will it have any negative impact on my chances of AMEX 3x at 61 days?

Re: To Arrival or not to Arrival

Barclays will report the new account within 1-2 days if you are approved. So yes, it will affect your Amex CLI odds.

Re: To Arrival or not to Arrival

I assume AMEX isn't really keen on the idea of new accounts in that period?

And should I go for it now, or wait for the reporting?

Re: To Arrival or not to Arrival

If it were me I would wait to lock down the Amex CLI unless you will have issues meeting the new $3k minimum spend on Arrival.

Re: To Arrival or not to Arrival

A new account reporting isn't going to totally kill your chances for an Amex CLI, but it may affect it adversely, especially since you have a somewhat thin file.

The arrival bonus is supposedly changing in about 90 days according to TPG, so you still have some time. And if you won't have issues meeting 3k spend anyways, then there's even less need to hurry.
