To CLI or not to CLI, That is the Question...

Happy Saturday, everyone!  I have a question and would love your valued input...   Just got a Barclay World Card and activated it...is it a good idea to request a CLI same day as activation or not?   Thanks in advance

If you request an increase it will be a HP. Since you just activated the card I suggest calling to see if you can get a SP increase first, but make sure the rep confirms a HP wont be required. Last year I was told a SP increase is possible within 30 days of approval but things may have changed. Good luck

they do a lot of times allow you to recon the limit. did that when i got mine 06/06/15 but they said that the limit they gave me was average based on my other cards

I strongly recommend that you ask for a CLI because you probably got a hard inquiry when you applied. If a CLI necessitates a hard inquiry then its okay because it won't affect your score that much and both the inquiries will be removed from your report in the same month two years later.

Call backdoor number tomorrow and they should be able to access the same credit report for 30 days... calling customer service will probably get you another hp.

You should call the analyst line and request a reconsideration of the initial limit. Barclays uses the same HP within 30 days.

If I may ask, what's the limit you got initially? From my Barclay experience, they don't do it for at least 3 months, at a minimum......better to wait for 90 days and try with proper justification (higher pay, better score, greater need to use the card, etc).
