Depending on report, AAoA is 7 to 8 years.  Obviously, my '07 BK7 is still reporting, but I have been absolutely perfect since then on CCs and installment loans.

Think I will have a glass of wine, and think about this some more.  If I decide to go for it, would that count as drapping?

LMAO yes to DRAPPING

P.S. I wasn't here going back to garden if anyone ask...didn't see me Lol

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Heh.

With all respect to gardening, there's a time and a place for it. Fear of rejection I can certainly understand, but end of the day we're talking a single inquiry, hardly anything to worry about longer term and your inquiry counts are minimal to begin with.

I think your plan is solid and picking up appropriate travel cards is a good reason to apply for a card even in my fiscal conservative viewpoint.

If I were you, and if I didn't have a mortgage to try to underwrite within a year, I'd just pull the trigger.

Trying to post the unhappy update, but keep getting error message that I've exceed 20k character limit - post isn't even 2k characters. Second time this has happened to me.

Yep, and they won't budge.  Each rep stated it's because my Discover doesn't have enough history, and my Freedom is only at $1,300.  which is rather funny since, they have kept it at that level for over 4yrs, despite the fact that I PIF each month - sometimes running $1,200 through in a month.

I'm not sorry I put the app in, of course, I wish it had gone better, but I will wait and try again in 6 to 8 months.  Discover will get the bulk of my usage, excluding beneficial bonus categories.

I had hoped to use the Marriott this summer and for my fall busniess conference, but it ws not to be.  As long as I use the Discover, well I think I'll be in good shape by late fall.

I have changed my garden status to reflect my momentary exit.

Sorry it did not work out. I saved you a spot next to me in the garden.
