I applied and got approved for a Belk's charge card and the Wal-Mart store card today. It brings my total tradelines to 3 which is the max amount I will ever have open in my lifetime. My question is, did I open to many accounts with Synchrony at one time? They only gave me $300 for Wal-Mart and $200 for Belk's but I really want to build a good relationship with them and not have to worry about them closing the 2 accounts for over applying. I fully intend to use the cards often because I shop heavily at those stores.
I don't know about opening too many at one time... but you can have more than 3 accounts with them
I have Disc Tire, Walmart, Sams, Belk, JCP, Ebates, Lowes and Paypal MC
Synch accounts may start low (especially if your scores are low/borderline at approval time), but tend to grow over time and, anecdotally, with usage and PIF so I wouldn't be too concerned over the small starting limits.
P.S. Congrats on your approvals!
P.S. Speaking of anecdotal, my Wally SC started at $400 if I recall and it's at $3300 now, most CLIs were automatic.
I have like 12 Synchrony cards. You're good. Congratulations!
Just use and request CLIs periodically. Their cards grow and grow to like 20x-30x the starting limit.

Some of Synchrony cards start on the low side, you can call Credit Solutions and ask for an increase. I opened a Walmart card and was given a 600.00 CL, called CS and was bumped to 4K, the next month 6K. It is a SP so no impact on your score. Congrats to you for your new cards!
i think i got 4 all within a year and a half of each other. i think mine started out at $500 with a credit score of 650. within that time the credit limits have been increased with heavy utilization without me asking for it. one is $1500, one is $3000, and the other to i think are $1800 and $2000.
just recently a couple months ago with this type of score and starting my repair journey i had pretty high balances on them all. never missed a payment or late. after reading here i tried to ask for an increase at each one and they all turned me down.
right now im paying off all cards except gas card and another i will use for everyday stuff, the rest 0 balance. most have not hit yet but as of now my score is 699 with 42% utilization according to my dashboard. hopefully as the report dates hit in the next couple weeks i will see another jump in scores.
i wonder if that would be a good time to ask for cli or if they denied me because of the raises they made in a short amount of time?
BINGO !!! I wonder what you'll be saying about synchrony this time next year when you're out of breath counting credit lines .
Agree, let the cards age, limits grow and you will be fine. I have so many synch cards.
