I was just approved for a couple cards earlier this month, and I was considering applying for two more from the same two lenders. Anyone know if they will frown on this?
Barclays Wyndham Rewards card approved for 5k two weeks old, considering the Choice card.
Chase IHG card, got 3k - Considering the Hyatt card.
Not sure if they have limits on how quickly you can apply again, don't want to have a pull for no reason at all. Scores are 650-695 and I only have 2-3 inqs at any given reporting agency currently.
My current cards are Discover IT, Barclays Rewards, Quicksilver One, plus the Wyndham and IHG cards. I'd like to get the two mentioned and one more good rewards card at some point. Not sure I'm ready to try Citi for double cash so I'm going to hold out for a good 2% card in the future I think.
Good to know, thanks. I got the Barclays rewards card in January so I was just over 6 months when I got the new Wyndham card. Funny part is I had to call work to get a measly $500 SP CLI on the rewards card, then that night tried the Wyndham card and got a 5k card. Odd result to say the least, but I'm happy.
IHG card is my first Chase card so new to them.
No prequal sites hever ever once worked for me, literally never got an offer. I even went and specifically made sure I was opted in several months back but it has not helped. Makes my journey slightly scarier having no clue when I click apply lol!
I'd also stay off Barclays for the moment, but mainly because they are cranky about inquiries. They like to see very few inquiries when you apply. Also, if you want Chase Hyatt card, I would get that before opening another account because of that pesky 5 accounts/24 months rule with Chase (supposedly doesn't apply to co-branded cards, but it is rumored that it may in fact apply to all Chase cards)
Chase Hyatt card looks excellent BTW, it is on my long-range wish list except I don't want to open any other accounts right now :-)
Well I took the advice and applied for the Haytt card and skipped the Barclays card for now. It was good advice as I got a 10-20 day message which I assumed was a fraud check so I called into recon this morning and checked and that was it, they verified I was who I was (I got my age wrong lol) and I was then approved. 5k. Sweet. Thanks for the reassurances all!
Now I have to work on hitting all my spend limits, I don't think I'll hit the Wyndham spend but I'll get the IHG and Haytt for sure as I'll make them my priorty.
Why Chase had to fraud check me twice in a couple of weeks I have no idea, they are really worried about someone impersonating me I guess!
Congrats... I would say more often then not people get fraud checked with Chase..
