Hi guys, so i'm aiming for 3x Amex CLi in march, either to 6k or 60k.My oldest credit card on EX is 4 years old. The rest of them opened 9,10,11/2013.AAoA 1.7 years. My question is should i remove all authorized cards so that my total available CLI would lower, give me more chances of getting 3x CLI approve? I'm authorized user on 3 cards, total CLi of 21k, and they are 3 yrs old. Removing them would only lower my AAoA to 1.3 years, but reduce my total CLI by 20%.

If you are going for an Amex CLI to 60k if I read this correctly, you must have the income to support it and I hope you do. Also being an AU is not going to play a role in the decision for approval.

Yeah, i have the delta at 2k,and ED 20.1k, but havent decided yet which one im going to ask 3x for. Without the AU's cards, my total available CLI would be lower to around 80k,would that give me more chances of getting 3x CLi than having current CLi of 105k.?if my dream come true and i get that 60k,it will match my income

You have to keep in mind that American Express, like all credit card issuers, has an internal limit for you so you would have to meet their standards. 3x CLIs are never guaranteed, so you need to be wise with which card you request a CLI for and how much you request for. I don't think anybody here can personally tell you what your chances are but it would be best to be as aware as possible. And as Yes-Its-Me said, you'll most likely be asked to authorize AMEX to view your income too so be prepared for that.

A CLI of 105k ins't high and if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't remove myself from any cards just because I want a 3XCLI from Amex. What is the limit on the other cards you are AU on if you don't mind me asking?

The 3 AU cards? 6.5k,9k,5.5k.Would it be better if i move 5k from the Amex ED to my delta, so the delta cli is 7k and then 3x cli to 21k?i dont have to wait anytime if i move cli right?
If it were me, I'd ask for a CLI on the ED to whatever you think you could get, and then transfer some of that CL to the Delta card. That way you don't find out the hard way that transfering CL resets the clock on CLI's.
I'd love a little additional info. Was the ED the first card with AmEx and the Delta fairly new? If so, and if you haven't had the second card for long, you may have found your internal limit with them currently, until you show them some more data with both cards onboard.
Personally, I did a CLI on my Delta card and then app-ed for a BCP and got only $2k. To put that in perspetive, TARGET gave me a higher initial CL. It is by far my lowest CL - but I only disclosed my personal income, not household. My percentage of cumulative AmEx CL to annual income is in the mid-30's. Your current cumulative AmEx CL to income seems to be in the same range. I'm not saying it is impossible to go higher, but that may be AmEx's comfort zone with new cards, little history with both cards, and no income verification. Pure supposition there, but I'm tossing it out there anyways.
I'm still regretting not doing household income on that stupid app for the BCP. Grr...

How long have the Amex ED and the Delta been opened? The reason i ask is for you to move limits with Amex, the card has to be opened at least 15 months to move limits. Also, based on the limits on your the limits on the other cards asking for a 3XCLI to 60k is a stretch. Don't tell me me your income incase you are a very private person but do you think your imcome supports that kind of limit -60k?

Sure. My 1st card Amex BCE opened 09/2013, then the Amex ED 03/2014. The BCE initially 2k,61 days to 6k,and then got the new Amex ED 2k as well. At ED 61 days days, i got it to 6k and then 181 days to 14.7k. Move 5.6k from BCE to ED to get 20.1k. And the Delta still fresh, just got it Jan 28

I think he already told you his income. I don't think AMEX will be willing to give a limit to match your reported income. I could be wrong .
