Hi All,
Thank you for your responses in advance.
Ok here is my situation, I currently have 3 Chase credit cards. What I would like to do is consildate the cards by spliting the credit line between the other 2 cards and closing the 3rd. My last transaction on the card I am looking to close was on 12/03/2019
I have called Chase multiple times to try and have this accomplished. Every time I call I get a different answer.
One person I spoke with said I needed to wait 1 full billing cycle with a zero balance to transfer the whole line to a different card. Another said 3 months, someone else said 6 months and one person actually said I wouldnt be able to completely move the entire line at all. I wanted to clarification if anyone has had experience doing this in the past. Thank you
I have heard most of those from Chase myself. For me when transferring it has been a mixed bag over the years. The last time I have tried it my wife was able to move her entire limit from one card to the other just a few weeks after its last use. This was about a year ago.
Usually you got to leave I believe 500 dollars which should be trivial for most Chase card holders and close it out with that limit and rest of limit should be moveable.

Yes, the CSRs will always give different answers, but in practice it's almost always "card gets closed with the last $500." I was told in 2015 that I just needed 3 statements with no activity and I could move everything from my now-closed Slate to my Freedom, but when I called to actually do it a few months later they couldn't move it all. Since I was told differently, I asked for a supervisor. Instead, I got an analyst who interrogated me about every single balance on my reports for about 20 minutes before finally agreeing to move the last $500 over... and I got an unexpected HP for what was essentially a $500 CLI!
For simply swapping around credit lines, it's much easier and can be done with a quick phone call or secure message. The only caveat there is that some cards require minimum credit lines (like $5k for CSP and $10k for CSR), and any Visa Signature cards will be converted to vanilla Visa cards if the credit line is reduced below $5000.
+1 for do it via Secure Message from your online account.
Tell them which cards to move what amounts to and end it with the card you want to close. Example:
"Hi,
I'd like to transfer the available limit (except the $500 minimum) from card C to my other cards. Please move $(amount) from C to A and $(amount) from C to B. Then please close Card C. Thanks for your help."

My experience as well. They normally require $500 to stay on the donor card.
Moving credit lines is easy with Chase and one reason I like them. Some banks don't allow this at all.
*NOTE* They will not allow you to mix business and personal credit lines. Business can be moved to other business and personal to other personal but you can't intermix the two.
The odd thing is that I originally had 4 different chase cards. I was able to completely move the line for one of the cards and close it out months ago.
And now I am trying to do the same for this freedom card and having difficulties. Everytime I call it's a different answer. No one can explain why I was able to transfer my other line. Very frustrating
You might try a secure message.
DW and I have moved Chase limits around quite a bit with no diffculty, just takes a few days worth of messaging back and forth.
Good luck!

This was the method I used and it worked out well; I was able to move the entire line from my IHG MC to my Amazon Visa, and close the IHG.
It had been several months since the last activity on my IHG MC which may (or may not) have helped.
Based on what I've read being able to move the entire limit (and the ease of doing so) depends greatly on who answers the phone, which is why I went with the secure message.
