I read online that if you have a family member that's an AU on your Amex card, then you can pool points with them. I have a few questions regarding this:
1) How exactly does it work? Can the AU use the points of the main cardmember along with any MR Points the AU has in thier own name?
2) If the main cardholder has both a personal MR-earning card and a business MR-earning card, and the AU is on the business card, can he or she use the points from the personal card to transfer to airline partners? (E.g., Person A is main cardholder of Platinum card with 50K MR and BBP with 20K MR. Does the AU of the BBP have access to 70K MR or only 20K?)
Here is the link to the article I read! Thanks for all the help and I'm sorry for the confusion.

I'm AU on a couple of my wife's MR earning cards. The points are not pooled...while I can certainly use points that has accured on her account, I can't combine them with points that I've earned on my own cards.
For example, if I went to Amex Travel and signed on...it ask me with MR Program Number I want to use while navigate the current session. I either pick her program number or that of my own. While I can see both point totals, there isn't an option to utilize both at the same time.
To answer the second part of your questions...it doesn't matter which card is earning the MR points...they're all linked to the same program number. So if she earns points on her Platinum or her BBP card, the points all total under her program number and since I'm AU on one of those cards, I can use any or all the points that pools under her program number. I can use the points for any offer that Amex has or transfer them to any of their partners. I do believe that permission from the primary has to be given in order for an AU to utilize the points but after such is granted, you're free to use them as you like.
I hope this makes sense. If it doesn't or for some reason I haven't completely answered your question, chime back in and I (or others) will clarify.

Short answers above in red. Only problem would be is that any points earned from bank account signup bonuses cannot be transferred to an AU and can only be earned by main card holder
