So I have the Amex BCE and the ED. I'm wanting to transfer as much of my remaining CL from my BCE to my ED so that I can eventually close out the BCE since it's just sitting here doing nothing. Is there a certain amount that you have to leave on the card? For instance, I know with Chase it's $500. I was wondering if Amex had a similar policy.
Amex's own FAQ of course doesn't provide any solid answers; it just says based on your credit profile, income, etc.
The last time I transferred limits with AmEx, I was required to leave $500 on my SPG card. This was last summer with that obscured reallocation link floating around. It allowed me to transfer all but $500. I subsequently closed the card after transferring most of the CL to my AmEx ED. I'm not sure if calling would have permitted the entire line to be transferred; but, from what I've read, the answer is likely no. Hope that helps!
The last time I transferred limits for Amex, they required I keep $500 on the card I was moving the CL from.

Using the reallocation link, I transferred all but $500 from my TE to my BCE. AFAIK, that's their standard.
