Traveling in late November.. Can I add a card?

Hi all,

These are my current scores.

Ex : 693

Tu: 692

Eq: 667

Scores in Ex and Tu both hit slightly over 700 a few weeks back and dipped again due to the number of hard inquiries recently.

Fairly new credit history. Have 4 cards opened in the last 2 years. Two secured cards, DiscoverIT and Capital one secured card, opened 7 months ago. Discover has graduated me and raised my limit to $2000. Capital one stuck as a secured card at $1000. I've also been recently approved (last 2 months) for two other cards. A BREAD cashback card with a cl of $7000 and a Amex BCP with a cl of $10,000. Have also bought a home in the last 5 months and a vehicle using chase as a lendor. I'm interested in getting into the chase ecosystem for a travel card or two keeping in mind the 5/24 rule chase has. I applied for the Chase Sapphire preferred card recently, and unfortunatly they pulled the EQ report and rejected me. Both my recent approvals are not reflected yet, they will both be reported by the end of this month.

Our family trip is in late Novemeber. I'd like to use a new travel card prior to that trip so I can use the trip expenses to unlock a welcome offer.  Is this realistic? I'm assuming i should just give it 2-3 months for chase if not longer to reapply or risk being flagged? Any other cards i should think about, that would not put me over the 5/24 rule? I'm hoping my scores go up a bit here, with the drop in utlization that should reflect on my credit reports soon. Should i try my luck with some type of business card?

dunno, scores are low but great SLs on the last 2 cards(did income matter? Or length of credit history?), too bad CSP got rejected. Not sure airline cards are available.

Credit history is less than 4 years. But significant 6x income jump over the last 7 months.

You history is longer than mine. Maybe too late to use sub for November but instead if you get Venture(or One), BA travel, Disco miles, you can charge travel expense first then 'erase' those later, BA includes dining methinks

Oh if just paying travel expense for sub, Citi Premier? USB Connect(1/12 rule though)? Heard Premier is hard to get. WF autograph might be easier, travel 3% Bilt 2% and can transfer points to other travel partners like CSP.

Personally I use CFF UR points to book flights sometimes(500 SL so hard to utilize) and charge car rental expense to C1. C1 has Hertz 8%, Expedia up to 5%(more like 3%) now.

If you apply for CFU or CFF now you might get toy limit like me due to low score but who knows you might get higher SL

1. No you shouldn't get a business card except for a business.

2. In my opinion you should just wait. You've applied for too many cards lately.

probably right, Op did get 2 cards recently. Doesn't Bread give 2%, and C1, can use portal for 5% travel although CL might be too small

Re: Traveling in late November.. Can I add a card?

Chase's reconsideration team accepted my application for the CSP this morning. Only received a $5000 cl, and said that I could request a higher cl once the card arrives. Was hoping for atleast $10,000, but I'm happy i'm accepted, no complaints. So have 3 cards now that have been approved and have yet to show on my credit reports. I'm at 5/24. Having my spouse apply for the CFU card , hopefully we can accumulate points together that way.
