Re: Truist Online Payment $2500 Limit

To put a finer point on the 'autopay' limitations...using NFCU as an example:

1) Not Allowed - reoccurring any-frequency Autopay that is based on any amount from a different bank

2) Not Allowed - reoccurring weekly, Biweekly, twice-a-month Autopay that is based on a fixed amount from an NFCU account

3) Not Allowed - Manual scheduled one-time payment that is greater than $10,000.00 from a different bank

4) Allowed - reoccurring monthly Autopay that is based on minimum or Statement Balance from a NFCU account

5) Allowed - reoccurring any-frequency Autopay that is based on a fixed amount from a different bank

6) Allowed - Manual scheduled one-time payment of any amount from a NFCU Account

Hello Fellow Members. So I got my covid sign on bonus for going to work for a new hospital corporation. Well I knew it was coming and put some spend on my Truist card which I dont use much. Went thru the motions to pay online. Get to the end since I use Chase for checking. Were sorry. Payments are limited to $2500. Please call 800....... So I called in to pay roughly $5600. Gave my routing/account number. Done. I asked the nice lady I never heard of a bank turning down any online payments no matter the amount. Oh its our policy. I guess since I dont use their checking as some of us know that have a Truist card you have to type in your checking info for every payment if you dont have a checking account. They dont save the account. Smiley Mad Not a big deal calling in. But man that was strange. So if there wasnt a call method. It would have taken 3 payments (Didnt ask how long between payments) and filling out the checking info each time. Sheesh. Happy New Year All!

Edit: Wont get new card until the present one expires for inquiring minds. Double Sheesh. Smiley Mad

I recently applied for a new Truist card. This was on the Truist site, not the BB&T old site. The new card arrived last month and I activated it.  To my surprise it is reporting to the 3 agencies as a BB&T account. The word TRUIST is no where to be found.

Also the new Truist site is just a name change for BB&T not much else has changed.  You could never make a CC payment on the BB&T aka Truist site for more then the $2,500 as you stated. The thing I like the least is that they will not store the outside bank account info. Every time you want to make a payment you have to enter the routing number and checking account number all over again. It just leaves room for errors. I double check me a few times before I submit. I do not like that. I wonder how my Suntrust accounts will be once they transfer over as they currently do store outside bank info. Time shall tell I guess. I do love both BB&T and Suntrust, however, Suntrust provides accurate FICO scores where BB&T does not. Again, I wonder how this will work out when the merges are complete

Thanks

Mark
