Trying to get Auto CLI Amazon Prime VISA.

What can I do to try and get Chase to increase my limit automatically? I have a CL (and SL) of 2k. The account is 4-5 months old now, and only put 150-350 on it give or take every month. I use it mostly for Amazon.

Figured I would request a CLI in a year maybe less, letting my accounts age and scores increase.

I’d like to get it to 7-9+k. I imagine it would be easier to get a cli and a cli initiated by me to get it up there.

Any input greatly appreciated! 🙂

Re: Trying to get Auto CLI Amazon Prime VISA.

I got my amazon prime visa auto cli after 6 months. I did it by running lots of transactions thru it each month. They like swipe fees. Thing is I only spent $200 to $300 a month in the card and PIF. All Amazon purchases and put all my restaurant purchases and prescriptions on it. I eat out a lot at fast food places. Chase seems to really like a lot of swipes per month. Doesn’t have to be high priced stuff. Just swipes. YRMV.

Re: Trying to get Auto CLI Amazon Prime VISA.

I just started a thread because I'm trying to figure this out too. However, I only got a $500 SL and it hasn't moved since March 2017. I was charging a lot and paying down several times to be able to continue to use the card. Then, I'd pay it off before the statement closed to show a 0 balance. So far that hasn't worked.

Seems the only true way to get auto from Chase is to show them you need more by spending more and using it like no tomorrow. To me hoping for Chase auto luv is like trying to hope on getting Discovers big increases. They just happenSmiley Wink

I got my Amazon Visa last year (January 2017) with a CL of $500 as well.  The low CL was likely due to the approval coming only a few months after my $9k IHG approval.

I tried running the card up, lots of swipes, even letting balances report and nothing triggered the auto-CLI others have written about.  Just a few weeks ago I finally moved $7k from the IHG (which is seldom used anyway) over to the Amazon, which solved my 'problem'.

As a disclaimer, I did have an old Wamu card that was charged off 10+ years ago, so in my case that could be a factor.

Lucky you had a nice CL to reallocate from. I got $500 on the Amazon and $500 on the FU, haha. So sad.

I also burned Chase in my BK7. I don't remember exactly by how much but I'd say at least 4 - 5K.

Did you ever request the CLI or you didn't want the HP?

@imaximous, since I knew I had the option to reallocate I didn't consider asking for a CLI, especially since Chase CLIs are known to be stingy for many.

If I wasn't for the unused IHG I would have probably applied for either the AARP or Disney, with the intention to reallocate whatever credit line was approved.

Gotcha. At this point, Chase has become my personal challenge more than a need. We've already had the Freedoms and CSP for years under my wife with very nice CLs, but I gotta get this done under my name. I'll probably be able to get the regular Freedom way before the CSP because of the $5k minimum SL. 3 more years till my BK falls off, so I hope that changes things for me.

Re: Trying to get Auto CLI Amazon Prime VISA.

I also was approved on recon with a $500 SL and also had included Chase in BK 15 months prior. I'm almost positive that's why I haven't seen a CLI, even though I run a few hundred a month through the card. I've paid in full, let balances post, let mid-cycle zero balances post, and so far nothing. I have slight hope that this statement coming up will be the twelfth will yield something, but I'm definitely not holding my breath! Smiley Very Happy

Re: Trying to get Auto CLI Amazon Prime VISA.

I was approved for $2000 last year. Most likely because I'm at my max exposure with Chase. I did exactly as UnkaB did. I moved $8000 of my Freedom limit over to Amazon. Presto! From the time of approval to making the Amazon a 10k card with one private message...less than 30 mins.
Having a donor card or two with Chase is handy when you need to increase a particular card's CL.
