Re: Trying to lower BoA Interest rate, HELP!!!

As I have said here many times before, BofA is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to the bottom of the barrel.  I think I prerequisite for being a CSR with them is to have been fired from a CA for being too mean.

If a BofA CSR's mouth is moving, they are lying.

Having said this, you might be able to get their mini-DMP deal where they set up a payment plan in return for closing the account.  I dont know what the requiremnts are but it is worth a shot.

I honestly I would get a 2nd job to make extra money to PIF them as soon as I could and then close the account even with the score hit.  I would never do any business with them again and even using the card to buy a pck of gum and PIF'ing each month is still too good for them,

Well they didn't exactly raise the rate on my card (which has a balance - residual of a BT), but they did screw with it, They changed the 9.9%F to 9.9%V. I understand they are nixing all the 9.9%F rates on those Amex cards they pushed out the door last year and that I was probably one of the last to have it done to me. Not that I expected the 9,9%F to last forever, but I do consider this a potentially very large increase. They will learn the hard way - by having their cardholders vote with their feet!

As for my particular case I will shortly BT this amount to a 0.0% APR offer or just pay it off - then BofA can join Chase in a sand pounding contest!

Re: Trying to lower BoA Interest rate, HELP!!!

Why do you not consider jumping on the Alliant Credit Union bandwagon many of us are on now? Seriously, as I reported in another thread, Citi rate jacked my daughter and I helped her get into Alliant and I walked her through applying for a Visa and Alliant approved her when no one else would and is doing the balance tranfer she needs with no BT fee. I thought her case was going to be pretty hopeless, as we had tried everywhere for a card to float that $2800 balance to, when I finally convinced her to try one more time, with Alliant. Thank goodness she did.

So, surf that balance and tell BofA to stick it where the sun don't shine.

A BofA CSR and Chase CSR jump off a tall building.  Which one hits the ground first?

Who cares.

Seriously, SSFCU has pledged not to CLD and ratejack people who maintain their account in good standing.  Another reason to do business with a good CU.
