Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this post but, the past 3 times I tries using my American Express card to order from Pizzahut online it doesn't let me, it just says "invalid card number". Does pizzahut not take American Express? I haven't tried using it in store only online, is it just online where it's not accepted?
In case anyone was thinking of asking the following questions
Did you check to make sure you were typing the card number correctly?
Yes, I triple checked
Is there anything wrong with your Amex account?
No, my account is in good standing
Are you sure this isn't a technical thing?
It's not, the 3 times i've tried are weeks or months apart and on different devices (twice on my phone, once with my laptop) and it's not the specific store either, I tried ordering online in 2 different cities
Edit: I replied down below but yes, I am using the 4 numbers on the front of my amex card, not the 3 on the back
Edit 2: I'm using the Hilton Honors card
When it asks for the security numbers (CVV), are you using the ones on the front of the card?

Bingo.

That's exactly what I was going to ask. For those new to Amex it still throws them that the CVV is the 4 on the front rather than the 3 on the back. Took me a google search to figure it out with my first Amex card. Besides transferring MR points to travel partners I can't think of any other instance where I've needed that number. Maybe Amex should consider getting rid of it.

I'm willing to bet there's some law that requires a credit card to have that 3 digit code on the back.

I used Amex in-store a few times in different cities and states.
Yes I am using the CVV numbers on the front, and I am learning now that there are 3 numbers on the back
@Brian_Earl_Spilner You're probably right...which then begs the question of why must they be different and use 4 numbers on the front rather than the 3 on the back like the rest of the world. LOL!
Guess it should have been asked if the amex is issued by amex themselves. Centurion bank issued cards use the code on the front. Cards issued by partners like NFCU and Macy's normally use the code on the back of the card.

Cause, amex
