Two AMEX cards - How to apply for CLI on both cards

My first card with Amex is about 1 year old. I just requested an increase from 12k to 24k about 1 month ago.

Am I able to request my 61 day 3x CLI on my Cash Magnet Card or do I have to wait 180 days since I’ve already received and increase on my Everyday Rewards Amex last month?

It just so happens that the time for CLI are falling around the same time for both cards.

Will they really make me wait until April before I can get an Increase on My Cash Magnet?

Hmmmm

+1

Amex CLI timelines apply to your entire Amex profile, not to individual cards.

While you are waiting for the six months to pass, you could be working on cards with Chase, Citi, or Discover.  Don't put all your eggs in the Amex basket.

There is no way around it. 6 months have to pass between CLIs across your Amex accounts.

OP, you will need to wait the 181 days from when your CLI was given, not from when the Cash Magnet was issued.

What is your limit on the CM?

You can do a reallocation from some of the “seasoned” limit, likely part of that original $12k pre-CLI limit. It may only allow you to move $5k, but it is something to help with utilization while you wait.

I have tried to move $10k on some cards, multiple attempts on different pairs of revolvers where that seems like it should work. System Not Available or some tripe. When I lower it to a $5k request, those usually go through.
High Bal Jan 2009 $116k on $146k limits 80% Util.
Oct 2014 $46k on $127k 36% util EQ 722 TU 727 EX 727
April 2018 $18k on $344k 5% util EQ 806 TU 810 EX 812
Jan 2019 $7.6k on $360k EQ 832 TU 839 EX 831
March 2021 $33k on $312k EQ 796 TU 798 EX 801
May 2021 Paid all Installments and Mortgages, one new Mortgage EQ 761 TY 774 EX 777
April 2022 EQ=811 TU=807 EX=805 - TU VS 3.0 765

Re: Two AMEX cards - How to apply for CLI on both cards

I have a 8k Limit on my Cash Magnet. I don’t “Need” to reallocate any funds from one card to another. I simply wanted to take advantage of all opportunities to grow my cards. There’s no urgency here, I just wanted to know if I had to wait or if I could do it now.
