One can use Samsung pay in all those stores as long as phone isn't S21.

Good to know but I don't have a Samsung phone.    Perhaps OP does though..

Yep, before I upgraded my S20 to a S21 I used Samsung Pay at Sam's Club with no drama (via MST).

I'm still coming to grips with the "upgrade," LOL. Smiley Frustrated

When using mobile wallet, is PayPal or other services consider as mobile wallet - at least from time to time?

This is a definite 'no', at least at this time

From the website:  Earn an industry-leading 3X points on eligible mobile wallet purchases using Apple Pay®, Google Pay™, Samsung Pay and LG Pay®.

Walmart Pay, Kroger Pay, Paypal, etc. don't trigger the 3x multiplier, unfortunately. Smiley Sad
