Hey all,
I was curious as to why everyone in here like USocks so much. What are the benefits that make them stand out? Don't worry I have 0 chance of approval for quite sometime as I read you need 0/12 to be approved. If I like the idea of them it gives me even more reason to garden.

@RobynJ
The local office treated me like a person and bent over backwards to help me with different products over time. Did not go crazy and opened what I needed when I needed it. You really need to scroll through their website as there are many products for many needs. ![]()
After the pandemic (assuming it is over) they never quite got the local branch staffed again and so it s a different environment now than back ten years. The online bankers have been able to handle my needs so far. ![]()
The worst part is the website ... it is a lot like Citi Bank and that flat out stinks along with Lumen/Century Link ... YUK! ![]()
Hi @RobynJ, I've moved your post out of the Garden Club so that we can give you non-garden friendly answers to your question. ![]()
U.S. Bank has some cards that many people find quite valuable. Unfortunately, they can be a tough nut to crack for many.
For me, the Cash+ and Altitude Reserve are two (actually, three) of my most valuable cards - the Cash+ was valuable enough that I got a second one, LOL. ![]()
They don't have branches in my region or I would consider them for a checking account. @Anonymous is spot-on that their I.T. isn't as impressive as some of the others, but they make up for it with being pleasant to do business with. Getting in with them is definitely a goal worthy of gardening for.
Just my 2¢.
I like my new Cash+ card. For the cost of one HP I gain another $225 per year while not lifting a finger. Ok, maybe a little bit of finger work as you have to go back every quarter and set your catagories but still. Not a bad trade in my opinion. The best part is they have a ton of 5% cash back catagories so anybody should be able to find something to use it for.
Having said that I was nervous about applying and might have frozen one of my reports just in case because if they pulled that one there was no way they were going to approve me. Luckily they did in fact pull TU but that wheel spun and spun for what seemed like eternity.
I'm just glad to have got my foot in the door with them. They apparently value relationship so I went ahead and opened a gold checking account as well which is free if you have one of their credit cards.

they're my dining out card lmao. i know i'm getting fatter everytime theres a balance on a us bank card for me
I don't get the USocks reference. But... I love U.S. Bank. I have my mortgage with them, and three cards (Cash+, Altitude Go, and as of today, received in the mail, my Altitude Connect). They've treated me great, there is a branch down the street from me, and I can email my branch and they're on it. I use a credit union and them, and they're just an amazing bank. All around. Very helpful, very supportive, and have always done me right.
Good luck getting in with them and using their products. I love their products, too. Cash+ for all utilities and internet. Go for dining. And now Connect for gas and travel. That's a bunch of my spend...
I didn't get the OP's USocks reference either, but as someone who had USBank CCs before BK, and now after, I have to say it's a great bank. I have found the service to be very personal and caring. There is a branch in my local supermarket, and their staff could not be nicer.
An added bonus is that many of their branches, if not all, can make you a new card on the spot. Just this morning, my best friend called me to tell me she had lost her primary credit card and now had to wait for a new one. I told her about USBank and their ability to replace a card on the spot, and she was shocked/impressed.
i am looking forward to broadening my relationship with USBank in the coming years.
@Jeffster1 I've never lost my U.S. Bank cards (knock on wood). But, I didn't know they could make one on the spot. Good to know! Just another reason I love them. I love Navy Federal, and used to use their cards as my daily driver, but now U.S. Bank's cards are my most used ones. Just a great bank (though, still love NFCU).

Yes, the reference "US Socks" comes from some long time posters in the MyFico Forum and ended up a nick name for fun. It goes back quite a ways. Do understand the confusion. ![]()

I like USBank partly because the USBank location in my area is a traditional brick and mortar bank (with safe deposit boxes, too).
Also, USBank offered me a HELOC (Home Equity Line Of Credit) years ago with an interest rate of prime minus one (I accepted, and I hope to have it paid off July 2023).
I have never had a USBank credit card because I don't like to put all my eggs in the same basket.
