More to protect them from opening a account and losing money because the acount isnt legit. But you can think of it as them protecting you. haha

I have always been under the impression that Amex charge cards are easier to obtain, but was instantly denied for the Platinum and instantly approved for the SPG on the same day. My CL on the SPG is $21,000 yet I can't get a Platinum. It doesn't make much sense to me... What do you guys think?
Thanks so much!
Dont you need a year of history with a charge chard before you can get the plat? unless you got a targeted offer
I got a platinum first thing without any history, so that can't be true.

Ive been wrong before and ill be wrong again haha
After being denied every time for any amex product (last denial 4 months ago) I applied for a hilton amex revolver and got a $1k limit last week. Applied for spg same day and got pending. One day later applied for platinum charge and got instant approval . A week went by and got denied for spg. No idea why u would get a huge revolver but not a charge...

No.
@buildingcreditfromnothing wrote:What I think happened is that when my identity was stolen a few months back (long story), they flagged my name after all of the fraudulent applications were submitted. There were like 49 submitted and I had to call and have them cleared from my name. In August, I applied for the PRG and got instant denial for reasons that don't apply to me. Do you think I have been blacklisted from charge cards lol?
What do you mean for reasons that don't apply to you? Have you pulled your credit reports to see if everything is accurate there?
