Hello all I just wanted some DPs on what counts as a department store for this category. Besides Macy, JCpenny, Nordstrom, etc. Which stores count?
Would Target and Walmart be eligible? Clothing stores like h&m and forever 21?
From their site:
Most online purchases from these merchants also qualify. However, there are exceptions. For example, Sears.com purchases do not qualify.3 In addition, purchases at discount stores like Wal-Mart®, Target® and Costco® do not qualify.3
So no on Target and Walmart. Since there is a special Select Clothing category, I doubt if pure clothing stores will count as department stores.

Below is a list of popular merchants in this category.2 While the list can be a helpful guide, U.S. Bank does not control how individual merchants or purchases are categorized.3
- Bloomingdale's
- Bon-Ton®
- Boston Store®
- Dillard's
- JcPenney®
- Kohl's®
- Loehmann's
- Macy's
- Nordstrom
- Nordstrom Rack
- Off 5th
- Saks Fifth Avenue
- Sears®
- Soma Intimates
- Von Maur®

Looks Neiman Marcus is not included in the list.
Target and Walmart are definitely not considered department stores, and anything that is specifically a clothing store (H&M, Forever 21) is likely excluded too and instead part of US Bank's "clothing store" category.

These are examples (unlike the select clothing category) so Neiman Marcus may well count.
