New to Cash + and was wondering if the Real Time Rewards with texting option was somehow better than typical accumulative earnings? Seems it would more annoying getting texts saying there are rewards available than just waiting.
I was shocked on how fast my SUB was paid on my very first statement. Kudos to US Bank.

They have just increased minimum redemption to $25 (from $0.01!) which I experienced last night. RTR can be useful to redeem smaller amounts, but if you are regularly reaching $25 (which is only $500 spend in 5%) possibly not worth it.

Thanks, LTL. Yes, $25/mo. minimum won't be an issue especially with the summer A/C running almost non-stop. Add on internet, water, natural gas, and trash disposal this card will never leave my desk drawer, but very profitable indeed. How soon until the nerf?

The card was nerfed long ago (probably the most nerfed card I ever had!) It started out as uncapped, with easy to use categories (bill pay, airfare) with a 25% bonus every time you redeemed $100, plus extra enhancements for having a US Bank checking account. So a lot of early adopters dropped it because it was now terrible compared to the original, but... if you forget the history and just evaluate the current product, still pretty good!
Real time rewards at least has a lower $10 threshold so I was curious about this too.
"There is a $25 minimum redemption for deposits into your U.S. Bank deposit account (Savings, Checking or Money Market), statement credits. There is also a $25 minimum redemption ($5 increments) for U.S. Bank Rewards Cards and a $10 minimum for Real-Time Rewards."

Yup. Doesn't seem wise to me to drop a card like Cash+ becasue it went from Amazing to Highly Profitable.
Plus, given the DPs I've read about needing to be approved for the Altitude Reserve, I feel like my 3 year relationship with USB/Cash+ helped in getting approved for the AR.
Sorry, not highjacking the tread - just wanting to point out the peripheral benefit of the Cash+.

Uncapped would be nice. The $2000/quarter cap will be exceeded here. That's only $666.66/mo. Might need a second card, we'll see how it works out. Thanks.

Thought I read that as $10 spend to get rebate of 50 cents.

That's we did, even though we have the Elan Max Cash Preferred cards instead of the actual Cash +. It took 2 of them to capture 5% utilities, cell phone, tv and internet for us.
The Elan card seems to be easier to get that the Cash+ as well, so it may be a good option for you. I plan to get a Cash + also next year when some of my new accounts get some age on them.
