So as long as Amazon MCCs as a bookstore (which it does for most purchases it will count.

I figure with Amazon the best chance is to give it a go and see - I mean, it DOES code as a bookstore for Sallie so I would figure it would code the same way for Cash+

Sallie is mastercard though. Cash plus is VISA. Just wondering if there's anyone with a more recent data point. I cannot really try purchasing something on amazon and see if I will be rewarded as that's not my current selection. With a new quarter, I plan to select bookstore as one of the 5%.

I just looked them up on Visa's Supplier Locator and see Bookstores / Newsstands - 5942

If code 5942 is a valid code for US Bank's bookstore category, it stands to reason that it will work.

I've had the card for almost 2 years and most if not all - my amazon purchases get the 5%.

Data point I probably spend at least 300 a month on various items and get what alots to 5% back.

If you want to find out what Amazon codes for anything other than Kindle, buy a $0.79 song and see what it codes as when it goes to your Cash+ account in two or three days. Or buy one of the many used books available for $0.01 plus $4 shipping.

If music or used books codes as bookstore from Amazon? that's a fairly recent data point.

And if you only get the 5% on new books, not used from resellers? Waste of the category. All books are generally available used on Amazon for quite a lot less, better than a 5% discount.
