Re: US Bank; What to do, what to do?

I pulled the trigger last week for US Bank and ended up w/ 3k -- zero intro for a year and then 5.99 BT's thru 2013.  Prior to this offer I'd rec'd a few others.  The first offer was like yours, 3.99 for BTs.

My other limits are..

7k, 6k, 5.25k, 5k, 5k, 4k, 4k, 3.5k, 3k, 2.8k, 2.5k, 1.9k, 1.5k, 1.34k, 500, and 500.

They pulled TU for me (Indiana), which was a 682.  I'm showing about 30% util.

I also recieved the same offer and was itching to pull the trigger. They did a soft on me on EX about 3 weeks ago and score was around 700. I have some baddies from 3 years ago what do you think my chances are?

Well, I called and it's only for 3K, but in these particular times, I'm not complaining. ;-)

Congrats Cheech on the 3k

Re: US Bank; What to do, what to do?

Well, well, well....

Received my pre-qualified letter for a 'Select Rewards Visa Platinum' from USB with a 6.99% "fixed" rate....  No BT fees for the first 30 days...  This is unusual - on the back, it states that I've been pre-qualified with a minimum credit limit of $1,000.  That's a first......

I noticed they soft pulled TU to 'pre-qualify', so, I decided to apply online.  However the application has an error with my home address and I'm forced to call their toll free number....  I'm wondering, if I call in my app, will they still pull TU?  Does anyone know?  (I have enough inquiries on EQ)

Any input will be appreciated...

What state do you live in? Sometimes credit report pulls vary by the area of the country you're in.

You can also go to whogavemecredit-dot-com, enter your state, and see who pulls what. USBank is in the Midwest, so TU is very likely, but it wouldn't hurt to check first.

Re: US Bank; What to do, what to do?

I live in Middle Tennessee...  An earlier poster from TN. said that USB pulled TU, but I believe that was 'online'...

My app will be via the toll free number due to a discrepancy on my address with my 'pre-qualifying letter'....

So that's where I'm confused as to which CB is likely to be pulled...  An EQ pull is acceptable, but I prefer a TU inquiry...  Both CB's have scores around 700, but I currently have 2 inquiries on TU versus 9 on EQ in the last 12 months....

I checked a couple of the online sites, (ie., whogamemecredit-dot-com and creditboards-dot-com) and neither give me a trend of which CB would be pulled....

Re: US Bank; What to do, what to do?

I applied for a US Bank CC a year and a half ago in my local branch (in Wisconsin).  They pulled TU then (most Wisconsin lenders pull TU for everything).  I then got a secured card with them.  I have tried a couple times to get it upgraded to unsecured after my 1-year anniversary and the have pulled EQ everytime for that.  I think that is because those requests were made by phone instead of at the local branch.

The closes I came to getting unsecured was when my score was a 678.  They told me I was "very close" and just needed "a couple more points" to meet their requirements.  I am pretty sure the cutoff is 680...so close!

It will be a great day when I can get it unsecured.  I can get my $1100 deposit back and have a credit card with a "reasonable" limit instead of the crappy $500 limits with "rebuilding cards".

Re: US Bank; What to do, what to do?

As I bank with them I have been thinking of trying them out for a long time.  I went in last night and talked to them about a "very boring, no rewards card" from a bank that does not seem to be in trouble  Smiley Happy

The lady seemed pretty impressed with my Score and DTI, and gave me a $10K card for starters  Smiley Happy
