Re: US Bank; What to do, what to do?

I assume the U.S. Bank Visa® Platinum

I will know when I get it!  It has 9 month 0% Apr and no annual fee if I use it once a year, that is all I remember.

When it arricves I will put a charitable deduction on it

Tsk, tsk. MV goes on an apping frenzy! Smiley Surprised

I'd boot you from the Tough Love - Cool Your Jets center, except that I don't think that you actually joined. Smiley Very Happy

Anyway, congrats, I puffy-heart credit unions and banks which act like credit unions, and that definitely includes US Bank.

in that sense, would you say it is kinda in the same league as USAA?  are there others, besides these two, in this category?  will they be the wave of the future, lol...

I meant this not so much as to how they are structured, but more in the sense of having chosen to take a conservative approach to lending, when the big banks were lending money to anyone with a pulse and investing in all sorts of dubious products.

Some of the regional banks who were pretty conservative were doing OK for a while, until the general credit tightness started hitting them.

It would be great if some of the Wall Street big boys would humble themselves and take a look at these others who followed prudent guidelines!

Well, everything was 13 months old, and now seemed a good time to try.

I've been thinking about those who had only an AmEx, a WaMu, and a Chase. They could have a really scary situation resulting from AmEx responding to Voices in its Head again, plus the uncertainty about the WaMu absorption by Chase.

I agree that I have an excessive number of cards, lol, but by golly, I'm pretty diversified. Knock on wood!

But also a Junny and  a CU.
