Thanks for the info Ozix, I appreciate it.
For me personally their insurance was much higher than a more local place for auto+home. Will likely go back to them in the future because I know its a better product, but it was $1000 a year more for comparable policies. It really is because of the way they value the rebuild value of my house, it is astronomical (like x3 more than market value).

Wow!!..$1000 more! I saved $800 a year switching to them for Auto and Home. My home policy is around $800 a year.

I lived at the very Upper Peninsula of Michigan also and that place is hell on earth it's so cold , beyond coldLOL, one of the most beautiful places in the US and the only 5 start wilderness left. It depends where you live there is a banana belt that extends from the Keweenaw Bay southeastward to Escanaba that doesnt get the deep cold. As far as snow it also depends if you are in the snowbelts or not and it can be the difference between 25 ft of snow to 10 ft of snow (over the season). The northern part of the Keweenaw Peninsula holds the record for snow and they are no different this year they are 1 month ahead of normal this year and its stacked several stories high all over. Looks like Lake Superior will not be freezing this year so all the snowbelts will continue to be hit with lake effect every time a front comes thru with some wind even though there is no system snow.
Adding to the coversation I live by the Federal Superior National Forest in Minnesota and winter comes in some place between the Russian Siberia and Alaska. Why I don't move south enters my mind more often these days. Scenery is beautiful and I enjoy the lack of people and vehicles.

Their home insurance prices can be hit and miss. A lot of the times we'd come in higher than competitors and have to sell the value of other intangibles, customer service, claims experience, etc. I've been back and forth with USAA insurance wise, but after seeing GEICO drag their feet on a sub-$1000 claim when a guy backed into my car and punctured my bumper, I value a better claims experience process than saving a few bucks. That's just me though, $1000 more is very hard to justify.

Getting back on track with the USAA limitless. I originally went to the USAA website looking by to apply for the limitless but found out it wasn't offered in my state and somehow ended up with two other credit cards and 25k worth of credit. I'm happy with those cards but hope they help and not hinder my chances of getting the limitless when it makes its way to my state. Usaa has always been good to me. I recently called wanting to get set up with new checks and debit cards for a checking account I hadn't used in years. They said it had been closed bc of inactivity but if I promised to use it they would reopen it. 15 minutes later I've got new everything on its way with the same old account. I'm going to open a youth account for my son soon. They are the bees knees for sure.
Like everything else in credit YMMV are the opportunities to open new credit card. Your ability to open a USAA Limitless Cash Back Visa will likely depend on how the USAA Risk Model views your new $25K in credit card limits. They do set a max amount they will allow based on their experience with you, external forces and ability to pay.

Just out of curiousity are you getting a "you have reached your application limit message"?
Looks like they've added some more states. Showing 20 now.
