I just got an email from USAA that they are adding Purchase Security and Cell Phone Protection to the USAA Cashback Rewards Plus Amex. Here's the language:
"Our mission at USAA is to provide excellent products and services that support the financial security of our members. As a valued member, we wanted to inform you of recent benefits changes on your USAA credit card ending in ****. What's new? Your credit card now offers these exciting new benefits:
Purchase Security
If you purchase a new item with your USAA credit card and the item gets damaged or stolen within the first 90 days, this benefit replaces, repairs or reimburses you up to $1,000 per claim and $10,000 per cardholder in the event of theft or damage.
Cellular Telephone Protection
If you pay your monthly cell phone bill with your USAA credit card, you could be reimbursed up to $500 if your cell phone is stolen, damaged or accidentally lost."
Thought it was nice to see them adding benefits instead of taking them away.
