For those of you who have this card (hauling...) What type of cl is common for them? Obviously it is going to be different for each person, however, I just applied and was approved for this card today, but with only a 1.5k limit. My lowest card before that point was a little over 3.5k. It kind of threw me for a loop because I already have a card with them and that limit is 11k. Im not complaining, and Im sure they will increase it with time, just as they did with my other card, however, I have perfect history with them and always pif - just curious if they are more conservative with this card more so than others.

My experience is that they are just as generous with either card. I could be that they just didn't feel comfortable letting you have a total of more than $12.5k for whatever reason.

I don't think that they are more generous with one than with the other.
I sort of accidentally got $30K on my AmEx one night by hitting the now-defunct luv button while buzzed on albuterol (my asthma inhaler --it makes you a bit impulsive when prompts flash up on your computer screen, lol). I only had $7K on the MC at the time, and maybe $3K on the AmEx, so I wound up with $37K total available CC credit. I eventually swapped them around to have $27K on the MC and $10K on the AmEx, which seemed more useful. But it is the same total credit limit.
And I have absolutely no intention whatsoever in going for another CLI.I don't think that lightning would strike twice in this case!

IME, USAA credit criteria is uniform and does not vary by card. The card is issued and managed by USAA, therefore there is no outside third party whom is involved in the decision. Although the card is an AMEX, this is only by network, not due to any real involvement of AMEX. It really is no different than USAA's MC....even the benefits are the same.
USAA has two "comfort" zones. One appears to be CL by card and one is total CL by member. In my case and DW, they approved a nice initial CL on a MC ($20k & $15k respectively). However, upon app'ing immediately after for the AMEX, we both received an identical CL approval.
Others have reported having obtained a relatively nice initial CL on card 1, but then receiving a lower CL on card 2, or even a decline. This seems (IMO) to indicate that the applicant had reach their credit limit in the intial card or nearly so.
