I've had a USAA card for 7 years. CL of 2K. I was making 30K at the time as I was in law school. I make much more now and I've used USAA for insurance and other things. My credit score is 790ish on EX, 800+ on TU and EQ. My CL today is a whooping 2K.

CLI requests are a HP with USAA, but usually they make it worthwhile.
My auto-CLI was $1400 ($7k to $8400), and my CLI request took me from $8400 to $12k. I'll add that I use them for my primary checking account, and I have a good history with them with a modest income (with a higher income I likely would have done better).

UncleB with your increased credit line and modest income ... a party would be in order

You know rather than hitting USAA up for credit limit increases, apply for the USAA Limitless Cash Rewards Visa Card? Since they are going to do a hard inquiry anyway why not ... "nothing ventured nothing gained"!

I agree!
I think what likely drove the auto-CLI in my case was high usage. The first year that card had a 0% promo on purchases as well as BTs and convenience checks... I actually carried a balance of around $4k most of the first year, always making large payments (basically paying off new charges in full, while chipping away at the convenience check portion). I had the entire balance paid down to zero before the promo ran out, and the auto-CLI happened when my balance was only a couple hundred dollars (just before I got it PIF).
Their computers seemed to like this, but I'll stress that much like my resources the auto-CLI was also modest ($1400) which is peanuts for many around here.
I also agree that anybody willing to take a HP for USAA should at least take a look at the Limitless... for the right person it can be a near-perfect card.
