USAA Credit Card

Does anyone know what score USAA is looking for to get a CC from them? Also are they BK friendly?

Thanks

Re: USAA Credit Card

Are you a full/military member or partial member?  I’ve heard they want ficos of 650 minimum for partial members.  I’ve also heard they’re not very bk/public records friendly, but may be more lenient if your bk was older.

I am a partial member and I do have a BK from 07. But have rebuilt since then. My TU is 649 and EQ is 643 not as high as I would like but getting there.

You may want to call them and see if you can feel them out about the bk.  I have a tax lien from 2003 + when I applied w/ficos higher than yours (they were 660ish), I got denied b/c of the tax lien.  However, USAA recently gave me a secured cc, so not all doors were shut w/them b/c of the tax lien.

Re: USAA Credit Card

I am a full member (18 years worth), do my banking and my insurance with them. They have refused me for the last three years because of a collection that will fall off next year.

Re: USAA Credit Card

Actually, I love them. I get no banking fees at all, refunds on the first 15.00 charged by other banks for ATM usage each month and rebates on all check card purchases. Every year in December I get a decent rebate on my car insurance (with rates in Florida that I have been unable to even come close to with other companies). And I get interest on a checking acount that has no minimum deposit reuirement.

I can wait until the baddie falls off next year.

Re: USAA Credit Card

Last summer, I received a preapproval for Amex with a 5.5yr dismissed CH13. Accepted  Score was 702. Limit 18k (no request)  I accepted.  Had been a member for about 6 months.  No other accounts with them.

Good luck.
