+1 !! And this is a great company to accidentally get in with too! Did you ever decide how you wanted to proceed?
@Anonymous wrote:I signed up at USAA's web site today so I could get an auto insurance quote since Esurance jacks my rate every six months for no other reason than they think they can. Anyway, I noticed USAA has a Mastercard product with the same cash back structure as Cap One's QS - 1.5% on everything. No annual fees, and the picture is the World. Anybody have experience with them? Hard to get? Easy to get? Starting line? Customer service?
The kicker with that card is that rewards only post once a year (in January).

Not going to ap for a card with them right now. I'm letting my embryonic cards gestate for a while. Still trying to decide on the auto insurance. I have time on that since my current policy with Esurance doesn't expire until April.
Best customer service of any bank/credit union but they are conservative. Insurance products are the best. Be aware that for credit cards you are essentially approved or not. I don't think they will recon. They SP every month and will offer products in the My Offers Tab. They review accounts once a year, February I think and offer CLI if your profile allows

Hey ... I did not know they did an annual review of accounts in February. Only been a member for five years and it seems I still learn more. USAA says they do not do recons (supposedly due to the Federal Credit Act).

They certainly like to come up with an excuse that suits them. Just be honest and say 'our decision is final'

Just accidentally applied for this card (yes it was by accident.) And we got approved for 15k opening cl. I'm happy and glad it happened on this card. As for usaa, we have been members since 98, bank with them and have their insurance. We are thinking if refinancing the car through them. We also have 2 small limit cards from them we used to rebuild or credit. They have been wonderful!
congrats!!

How do you accidentally apply for a credit card?
I'm not totally sure, but I wondered if it was as simple as already being logged into USAA, they already have all of your data.... SOOO maybe if you click to apply thinking it will give you another page to look at but it doesn't ?? Maybe it just goes through just like that?? I was going to poke around to see when I logged in to USAA but then worried if it's that simple, I might inadvertently do the same. ??

That's weird. I see that on their site for their cards, but mine doesn't do that. I must be grandfathered in under an old rule or something because mine update every month on the statement cycle and I can use them anytime I want.
