I signed up for a USAA checking/savings account on Nov 30 and noticed today that USAA softed Experian instead of Equifax. Does anybody have any clue why they softed EX instead of EQ?
Eq is the bureau of choice for usaa when applying for credit. I talked to usaa on Friday and asked if they pull credit for checking/savings and i was told no credit pulls.

I know they pull EQ so I was surprised they softed EX...I want to apply for a credit card in the next 30 days but wonder if they will be pulling EX or EQ
When I apped for a USAA card, and was denied, they pulled EQ for me. On another note, I noticed that AmEx has been softing my EX report. They did it 3 times already and I just received the card in October. I'm like "dayuuum". The last soft I noticed it said "FR". I was like "DAYUUUM". I'm not worried or anything but I was just like "dayummm".
When I app'd for their CC in the summer, they did a HP on EQ. But I just opened a ckg acct last week, and the rep assured me that they did NO pull at all to open an acct.

...and people are paranoid about Barclay!
It might simply be something that is done on a periodic basis. I just checked my reports and USAA softed my Experian on November 30, also.

I am curious if they are now pulling Experian in certain areas...what state are you in if you don't mind sharing
I don't mind; I'm in Maryland. I did not see any other reports, by the way, just Experian. For all I know they use the other bureaus for reviews but I just didn't see them.
they pulled EQ for my CC too, but they soft my EX every once in a while.
