USAA Total Rewards

Can someone explain what earns points? My first statement just closed and I earned just over 2500 points.

This statement cycle I made $32 in purchases and $3300 in cash advances (overdraft protection)

I'm not following their logic in how I earned the total reward points. It looks like I got some for the cash advance (which was unexpected) but not the full amount. Anyone have experience to share?

I just upgraded to that card two weeks ago I'll be looking forward to the answers myself.

Likely you got a promotion for first purchase. I.e 2500 points free after first purchase. I have about 18,200 points (waiting for 20,000 = best conversion rate to cash) I have always gotten 1 point per $1 spent except promotions (sometimes 2pt/$1 or 3pts/$1). Never got anything for balance transfer. Best thing is to call USAA.

That's what it was! It makes sense because that's 2500+purchases.

Too bad though, a card with cash advance rewards would have been amazing!
