USAA questions

Dose it ever seem that someone dosen't want your business? I have tried for years to get a CC approval from them with no luck! I don't know if it has something to do with me being a pain in the ass to deal with and never taking no for an answer. My wife is on all my accounts and knows about 98% of what I do with everything. I applied and got denied, sitting here stewing about it I said Sara login under your name and apply....hers declined.... prob because its linked to me!!! I was kinda thinking damn she is always a 788+ score and they said NO! her AAOA is 6.0 years, 1 late for damn verizon that never cashed the check but its been paid in full for like 2 years. Otherwise perfect history for 15 years. 6.0% Utilization. Reason said, amounts of loans in relation to limit... yes we have 2 new trucks, and number of inquires... anyways I just had to rant to everyone here, its my favorite board to be on now.

Re: USAA questions

Always apply for credit cards under your own name. You can report household income, of course. If you've been trying for years and had a 585, no wonder. Pay your bills on time, don't default on any debts, and don't generate hard pulls on your credit file--the problem will clear up. I've had a USAA MasterCard since 1993.

Re: USAA questions

USAA was the first prime card with a major CL I received after starting my rebuilding.  I was initially declined too, then got a USAA secured card and after five months applied again successfully.  I do also bank with USAA and have a number of other accounts with them.

Re: USAA questions

I don't know how they are on Recon but it's worth calling to get some clarification. They're pretty conservative but I've read plenty of posts about others getting in the door with challenging profiles. One Verizon late shouldn't be a deal breaker, IMO.
