I tend to believe if you have a mortgage/banking relationship with them and a decent fico and haven't burnt them in the past you have a good shot not necessarily at the cash+ but the cash rewards or platinum or what not. As always, nothing is guranteed in the Credit card world, even the RED banner could be declined
Just pulled the trigger and...INSTANT APPROVAL FOR $15K!!!

Having any US Bank credit card will qualify you for a Gold Checking account without any monthly fees. And having a Gold checking account allows you to also have up to 2 Easy checking accounts with no monthly fees. So basically you can have up to 3 checking accounts with no fees, which can make budgeting easier if you setup your payroll direct deposit to send the correct amount to each checking account, so you know you will always have the money available to pay the bills or whatnot.

kinda only reason I am still with us bank is the free checking cause of my CC with them.. Although many banks offer free checking with direct deposit so that begs to ask the question why I still am with a bank being Us Bank when there are better banks out there.. Still pondering on this one.. Guess I am just to lazy to change my direct deposit an open a new account.. I think in time it will come if US Bank doesn't get rid of some of their dumb policies.

Out of curiosity (pardon the pun), what are some of the dumb policies?
I took advantage of their summer checking account promotion ($125) and signed up for a Gold Checking because I have a Cash + and have been using it as a small, supplemental checking account because it doesn't cost me a thing. It seems really decent thus far with my only gripe being that when you initiate an external bill payment, it doesn't automatically deduct that amount from your checking balance like Chase does. When I pay something, I like to see the money gone from my sight immediately, not a day or two later.
Cheapest Everyday checking is $6.96 per month unless $1000 direct deposit is made per month.
Should your CC be closed, Gold Checking is $10.95 per month.
Military and their special 55+ accounts do not have this but the others: Charge $3 per personal check. $3 per reprinting past checks from statements should you not have online access to print yourself. Minimum balance requirements on general Savings Accounts.
There's more, but my blood pressure is rising, and that's not the best bank for my needs. So I thru deuces.
THIS MAY BE A GREAT BANK FOR SOME. There's my peace offering.

You don't need multiple checking accounts to help you budget when you use this: You Need a Budget

Just nickle and dime you for alot of stuff with stuff at other banks are free.
I don't think US Bank is that conservative of a lender. They approve people with at least what I would consider low scores. Especially, if you have a banking relationship with them.
However, if you live out of their service area, the pre-qual site doesn't give you squat, even with very good credit. I don't know how reliable it is if you live in their service area. The only way I was able to get a pre-qual with US Bank was to open a checking account. While opening the account they gave me a pre-qual offer. In my case, it was an instant decision with the pre-qual offer (although, the language said it would be reviewed the next day).
