I cancelled my Amazon Prime Membership 3/24 and received an email today and now the "new product" is showing on my Chase home page.
I don't/didn't put much spend on the card, so I'm only a little salty, and there is still no AF. But, to be honest, isn't paying $139 + tax per year to get these benefits very similar to charging an AF?
I came back to give a quick update.
Welp...one of my darling children or my husband (<--he says "not me!") signed me up 2x's for Prime since the initial cancellation/subcription hold. The Fee + Tax is $152.21. I cancelled both times and good ol' Amazon only refunded me $140.03 each time. I had to chat with C/S to get the remaining $12.18 refunded. The second time a Supervisor had to enter the chat to take care of it due to a mathematically challenged rep whom I argued with for far too long for $12.18. SMH!
I wonder how many times they've short-changed their customer's refunds? I think I'm done with all of it...![]()
I canceled Amazon Prime several years ago and my Chase Amazon Prime card was downgraded to the 3% card. Soon after, I closed the 3% card and applied for the Affinity FCU Cash Rewards. At the time, the Cash Rewards had the Hi5 categories, which were awesome until nerfed. I still have the Cash Rewards and still get 5% cash back on Amazon purchases without Amazon Prime. I have not noticed any significant differences beyonds shipping being noticeably, but tolerably, slower than it was for Amazon Prime.
