Has anyone had dealings with them for credit cards and if so, what is your opinion on their cards & customer service?
They are not discussed here much, mostly due to their limited geographic footprint and due to the fact that they only recently started issuing their own cards. What has you considering them?

Actually approved back in May for a card. Have not received card yet and after calling in and talking with four or five people so far, none seem too intelligent.
And the hold times are crazy on the phone. I called in one time and had to wait over 25 mins till I got to speak to someone.
Not a very good first impression of them.....If you live bear a branch it may be time for an in-person visit!
I try to stay clear of these smaller, foreign owned banks (Barclays, Santandar, BBVA Compass, Bank of the West, HSBC etc). I couldn't escape TD; they bought my Chrysler Financial car loan and my Nordstrom Visa.
Their products offerings are the same as when they were issued by FNB Omaha. Someone from the bank told me they have more control of the approvals and CL though.
Union Bank is a good bank.

Just Experian. I'm in PA so I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Doesn't appear any branches in PA. I did not know they were foreign owned until today. The reason I called is due to being concerned of where the card was since it has been since the middle of May. Six different people and no one seems to know the answer. I am supposed to get a call from a supervisor tomorrow. Will update with results.

That's my only dealing with Union Bank, they bought my mortgage from Chase.
Their web interface is pretty sparse on the mortgage side, can't speak to the CC side but generally accounts are accounts so if that matters to you it may not be a fantastic experience. I had to call in once regarding the autopay transfer, and the two people I talked were as helpful and knowledgable and downright friendly as could be actually. I don't use that feature much for my cards, but I wouldn't be scared of taking a card from them on that front if I wanted it... though if I come off the road or otherwise the CSR doesn't make any sense anymore, if that 2 * 50% redemption = 3 cents per $1 spent off my mortgage principal on a Visa, hmmm, that's a pretty attractive default spender even if it's a niche use case. *snort* that might actually become my only spender, then suddenly paying mortgage via Venmo or whatever makes all sorts of sense.
Well poop, if I stay where I'm at past February or so, think I just talked myself into applying for it assuming the above redemption level is correct... arbitrage play on my 20K/year mortgage payments? Yes please. Anyone who actually gets the rewards card if you'd let me know if points are worth 1 cpp that'd be awesome ![]()

I got one of the Personal cards last year and haven't used it a whole lot. It wasn't an instant decision, the card arrived about 2 weeks after I applied with a $5,000 SL. I have clean reports and pretty low utilization, just always a lot of new accounts. The website for submitting payments is very basic, but functional. I recently applied for a business card through them and got about 3 pages of verification questions followed by a snail mail asking me to verify my revenue. I called in and the CSR had to enter the info in the computer and said the UW would make a decision in a few days. That has been my only interaction with Union Bank on the phone and the CSR was friendly enough.
