@UpperNwGuy wrote:Looks like Amex and Delta just released a new card today, too. It's a no-fee card just like the new Chase United card. And the benefits are similar.
And so did NFCU.

If link to Chase not allowed, please remove.

1.5% back on everything
2% back on United purchases
25% back on food purchases on board,
No FTF, No AF.
Very interesting.
I read it as TravelBank cash back, which is VERY different than regular cash. TravelBank is something United has had for a while where you get cash back from booking flights, but that cash can only be used to book flights. Think of it like the student loan cards where you get cash back but that cash is only able to be applied to paying down a loan balance.
If you fly United a lot and you book United tickets using www.united.com, then it can be a good value. Otherwise, not so much.
2 weeks is "approval" in Chasese.
You can either wait, or call them to see if they need verification to speed things up.
This is going to be the competition for the AMEX Blue that was also released.
This reminds me of CSR vs AMEX 5x, when they were released.

I don't see how this compares with the Blue. They're not even similar.
The Blue earns MR points, which are well-known and can be used for any of a number of things. TravelBank cash can't be used for anything except tickets booked via united.com.

I said "competition". I never said they were the same....just like the AMEX Platinum and CSR (not the same) were previously competing.

The Platinum vs CSR comparison had parity. Both had a point system (MR vs UR) that could be used for various things and it really came down to which partners and perks meant more to each person.
How does a niche reward card like the Chase TravelBank (or Chase Disney for that matter) compete for the same customers of a card such as Blue?
